LDF Construction’s Max Gans Smith recently attended RES 2020 (Reservation Economic Summit)  to continue to advance the growth of our construction business.

RES Conference is an event by the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development. The event features tribal leaders, members of Congress, federal agency representatives, state and local officials and top CEOs.

The economic summit offers massive amounts of knowledge assembled in one place. It’s one of the premiere opportunities to share information and build bridges of opportunity for today’s American Indian Enterprises.

“This economic summit was positively overwhelming,” Max says. “Our federal contracting business has grown over the last year and the information learned about the 8(a) SBA aspect of the conference was particularly valuable to continuing to grow that part of LDF Construction.”

RES 2020 is considered “the Summit” to attend for those looking for high caliber networking, teaming opportunities, business development sessions, centered around building bridges of opportunity with and for the American Indian Enterprise.

Some of what Max found helpful at the summit was along the lines of workforce development, economic development and business development.

“Getting your business to the next level”  was a panel discussion that helped you understand and illustrate the direction of your business.  An ongoing planning processes enables you to monitor whether your achieving your business objectives and assists in the identity of which direction your business will go.  In addition, having goals and ideas and turning them into a successful business gave participants creative ideas on how to develop and manage a successful company.

In the National Native Organizations Working together discussion, the discussion included leading national organizations representing Native communities, enterprises, small businesses entrepreneurs and respective policy goal agendas.  Investing interests in Indian Country and opportunities in domestic and international markets was the key takeaway and was very helpful.

In closing Max said that this economic summit was fantastic to attend. Massive amounts of knowledge and the 8(a) SBA aspect directly relating to construction was most helpful for her.  She met very interesting, caring, educated and compassionate native people and found it amazing how many different cultures are across the country.  She hopes to attend next year’s RES2021 as new ideas and developmental opportunities, partnerships can arise for LDF Construction, LLC.
